RANGERS BEAT PENS, FORCE GAME SEVEN SUNDAY NIGHT

Some untimely penalties and a goaltending gaffe allowed the New York Rangers to secure a 5-3 win over

the Penguins last night and force a game seven tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden.

After the Pens built up a 2-0 lead in the first period, the Rangers rattled off three straight in the second.

The first two came from Mika Zibanejad.  The first was a power play goal as Evan Rodrigues was caught retaliating from a cross-check by Rangers defenseman Ryan Lingren.

The second of Zibanejad’s goals came less than two minutes later.

Kris Kreider gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead later on, but Evgeni Malkin tied it up at three each to end the second period.
